Dolce Gabbana spring 2010 full fashion show..

The boys are back love the clothes love everything!!!

Review from
Sarah Mower on style.com video youtube...
"Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana looked back to go forward in their Spring show. Much to the pleasure of the audience, the designers removed the runway and flooded the dark space they were showing in with light, a move that evoked something of the atmosphere of their joyous presentations of the nineties. As did the collection—a recapturing of the mannish tailoring and curvy Latin lingerie, see-through lace, café-curtain macramé dresses, and rose-patterned chintzes that were first put through their paces by the likes of Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, and Naomi Campbell. This time, though, the clothes are aimed at a new generation, and the market is global—to which end, Dolce & Gabbana put two bloggers in the front row, who were tapping out their commentaries while the show was going on.

There was a South American angle going on this time—silk fringing on black lace dresses and spiffy suitings that might suggest the denizens of a tango bar. Really, though, the classic extremes of masculine and feminine illustrated here go back to Domenico Dolce's Sicilian childhood, and all the things he saw and learned in a household that centered on his father's business as a tailor. Part of his culture is a Catholic, Southern Italian adoration of the female form—and he and Gabbana gave that full vent when they replaced their traditional finale of overblown ball gowns with a runway thronged with girls in corsets."

Milan fashion week ss2010

Giorgio Armani collection highlights.

The designer and his models.

I like the feel of the collection although it s classic Armani with strict shapes and lines Armani has managed to funk it up with interesting fabrics, colors and detail..

Milan Fashion week

As you all know this week was all about Milan..After New York and London designers in Milan wowed fashion lovers.

1-Prada
A very light and straight forward collection with a hint of optimism..
The collection goes from classic chic to beach in the designers own words:"business to beach," a representation, how life is today. High and low, palazzos, and the popular,I really liked it."
Most of the clothes are wearable (excluding the panties worn as outerwear) and i really loved this collection as a whole.

2-D&G
'Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana took us on a wild and sexy romp through the American West for Spring'..I think this statement says it all and perfectly sums up this collection...
I find it fresh flirty wearable,sexy...
It definitely is wearable, also love the accessories, hair and makeup..Love the funky feel and I feel this is aimed at the young hip woman..
If you ask me this collection s a hit!

3-Just Cavalli.

"Rocker girl gone grunge.
She's layering lingerie slipswith great big swags of fringe over slouchy cotton tanks and tees. And she's throwing the occasional vintage-looking pointy-cup satin bra or lacy bustier into the mix.
When she feels like sexing it up a bit, the Just Cavalli girl will have body-con shirred silk dresses to pour herself into, as well as slouchy black sweaters with the snags and mothballs built in and ripped and ravaged jeans and denim minis."
Thus far this is my favorite collection love the young funk feel and there is nothing i wouldn t wear..
Mr Cavalli once again you have me in awe!!!I bow down to the...

Burberry Prorsum spring 2010

The Burberry show was the one that ended fashion week London.
With a big list of A listers on the front row such as:Emma Watson ,Gwyneth Paltrow, Mary-Kate Olsen, Victoria Beckham, Daisy Lowe.

Burberry has gone short, draped, deluxe, and glamorous, and aimed at the very young.
Christopher Bailey managed to reinvente beige. With tones in the range of camel and nude spot-on for the season, but military references are cropping up in many places as well.
He managed to reinvent the classic image of the brand and make it appeal to the 18-25 year age group..

Here s the video of the complete runway show.

Another "look" i made..

Rodarte Rtw 2010

Thank you style.com

Nyc fashion week highlights

Video from style.com

"When Matthew Williamson left off showing in London, he was the definitive mid-nineties king of boho, a designer whose scope could be easily described as a raspberry cardigan and a fluttery butterfly-print dress. On his arrival back on British soil, however, he presented a whole new slick profile to the audience who'd seen him grow up as a kid from Saint Martins; this is not the same guy who friends like Kate Moss and Jade Jagger used to visit by climbing a rickety staircase in High Holborn. A decade on, Williamson is back to celebrate London fashion week's 25th anniversary, transformed into a man with a brand.

In his time away in New York, Williamson learned something about putting on a show. Honed by exposure to that city's demand for brevity in design, this was a much more focused, slim-contoured collection consisting of leather-inserted polished-linen sheath dresses, super-skinny pants, and paper-bag-waisted shorts. There were certainly glimpses of the "old" clubbing-in-Ibiza phase of Williamson's development, in splashes of fluorescent green and the blue-cast UV light captured in a sheer skirt. But the styling these days tethers those tendencies to summer citywear, grounding a lime chiffon blouse with a teal leather skirt, and slipping the tonic shirt under a pantsuit.

Anyone expecting Williamson to break out a triumphal finale of flowery nouveau-hippie frocks was left frustrated. He could have made more of the opportunity to let himself go with a nostalgic parade of print-y, floaty things. In the event, there were only three draped orchid-patterned dresses, and the final one—long, strapless ruched chiffon with a pouf below the knee—looked more ballroom than barefoot in the sand."
This says it all.

Julien MacDonald spring 2010

The set was magnificent the clothes fabulous don t have words to describe this collection I am in awe..
Always have been a huge fan and I got to say he never disappoints..

Antonio Berardi Spring 2010

I always thought this designer was Italian not English but do not be fooled...He does however have Italian roots.
Anyway to the collection.
The looks are very lingerie like with some cocktail dresses that really stand out in their simplicity.
Love the metallic and sheer looks and I find some of the shapes really interesting.
Also loved the bright colors and graphics looks.
Enough of my tchit tchat time to look at the collection.
(by the way the images are not in the order shown on the runway).

Anna Sui RTW 2010 (NY fashion week)

Thanks to style.com and youtube for the video..

Handbags for the winter season.

These handbags are a must for every respected fashionista..

  • Big or small, this season's handbags are hand-held
  • Quilting, studs, snake and crocodile make for tactile luxury
  • Tiny box-shaped handbags that have a dainty vintage appeal
  • grown-up ruck sacks and quirky bags.
Enough said have a look..

Beauty trends summer 2010

Tatoos/body art trend

Who would have thought? Two sets of body tattoos in two shows: Rodarte and Catherine Malandrino. Coincidence? Or. Emerging trend? Perhaps. With tribal influences and inspiration in both shows this comes as no surprise.

Rodarte.

Beach hair

Summer's officially in full swing in New York as the S/S 2010 season kicked off with beach hair being the key focus at Alexander Wang, DKNY and Diane Von Furstenberg.
With plated looks and beach like hair on all those catwalks.
This style is simple to achieve and very wearable I can so see us ladies copying this look this coming summer!

This is it for now more to come soon.
xoxo

Sass and Bride RTW 2010

This is the first collection to appear on the London fashion scene since the Sydney-based designers moved to New York in 2004.

This collection was filled with attitude,sass,glamour..
The predominant colors in this collection were black and white with gold embellished and adorned patterns and oversized tribal necklines.
I found some of the dresses super cute and loved the long dresses..but I wasn t crazy about the stripped looks and some of the very casual looks which I find unflattering on even the models..
But generally this collection leaves me with a very good feeling and i can definitely see myself wearing some of these clothes..

Bye Bye NYC Hello London!!!

New week new destination for Fashion week!
London designers it s your time to shine!!!

I will begin with Mary Katrantzou's Spring 2010 collection.

Style.com states;"Mary Katrantzou is among the second wave of breakout stars of the digital print revolution that has been sweeping London's designers since Basso & Brooke began experimenting a few years ago."
Her designs are very trompe l oeil ish and i like the patterns on some of the pieces.
The looks are very graphic in my opinion while some of them remain wearable others are too over the top with ruflles and embellishements that to be honest are way too much for me...
