Paris fashion week continued

JEAN PAUL GAULTIER



The invitation to JPG spring show stated that the collection would "explore the contrast between XXS &XXL".
True to his word Beth Ditto (size 26)opened the show this past weekend.
Model Crystan Renn also walked the runway (size 10).
This isn't the first time Gaultier used plus sized models in his runway shows.

Paris fashion week:Roland Mouret Spring 2011

Roland Mouret stayed true to his classic style
and impecable tailored dressed.
The looks were form fitting and "flowy".
This time around the dresses were longer.
Although there was a  classic feel in this collection
the details gave it a modern feel.

Paris fashion week:Christian Dior Spring 2011

J.Galliano's show was highly anticipated.
As usual it was theatrical and glamorous.
The inspiration was the 50's and
everything absolutely fabulous.
Love love love!!!
Mr Galliano never dissapoints.

Paris Fashion week:Isabel Marant Spring 2011

I.Marant is one of my favorite designers.
Most of the women at the show were
wearing her classic grey sweatshirt and a pair of boots
and were French.
Isabel's clothes embody the modern cool French woman,
and embody French chic.
The collection was inspired by the early 80's American era of
hip hop mixed with these looks were her signature classic style.
Of course all looks were paired with Marant's signature heels and
boots which as usual sell out and are a hit!

Paris Fashion week:Lanvin Spring 2011

This season Lanvin's designer Mr Elbaz
made sure his models slid  down the runway
with grace and in style.
The dresses were mainly jersey and crepe.
The sandals were flat and the heels spiky.
Color played a big part.
First in shades of stone and putty,
then came the orange,ruby and,neon.
Embellished tunics will be huge in editorials
but i m not sure a lot of women will wear them.
The silver sparkly and black dresses are sure to be a hit
as they are perfect party dresses.
The entire collection was gorgeous and beautiful.

The finale was greatly discussed as 4 black models
walked down the runway in gorgeous evening gowns.

Paris fashion week:Balmain Spring 2011

Minimalism seems to be the new/old trend.
Balmain designer Christophe Decarnin made 
it clear he doesn't give a f*ck.

Models included:Daria W,Carmen Kass,and I.Fontana.

The song that was playing was Sinatra's "my way"&
well the designer sure did.

The designer presented his signature sparkly blazers,
ripped tee's, and few pieces embellished with studded crystals.

OH SUCH A FASHIONABLE COLLECTION.

Paris Fashion week spring 2011

Zac Posen

When i heard Zac Posen was showing his main collection in Paris.
I have to admit i was taken aback..
Yohji Yamamoto suggested to Zac that he show abroad,
that he would better be understood in Europe.

Then I gave it some thought and Yamamoto's logic
seems to be erm logical lol.
Posen designs for a woman who doesn't care for trends and
prefers something figure hugging and frilly.
The European woman is less of a slave to "what's in"as the 
American woman is.

It was a show to remember the models and looks were amazing.
The "Zac" silhouette was mixed with rock hair and feathers.
There was a can-can/Spanish influence in this collection.
